SALISBURY - It was a break Richie Pallai Jr. didn't want to take, but one that was needed for his team NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour team.
Saturday, Pallai made sure that a short regrouping period for his team would pay dividends.
After skipping the last three Whelen Modified Tour events, Pallai returned to action at Lime Rock Park and recorded a career best fourth place finish in the Whelen Modified 66/99 at the 1.5-mile road course.
Pallai ran with the leaders most of the day in the 66-lap event at Lime Rock and held off 2008 series champion Ted Christopher at the line for fourth place.
