WATERFORD - Ken Cassidy Jr. has made extended distance events at the Waterford Speedbowl his specialty.
Saturday he used one to make history.
Cassidy, of Lisbon, passed Glenn Colvin with nine laps remaining and went on to win the 50-lap Mini Stock feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl. The division normally runs 25-lap features.
It was the fourth win of the season for Cassidy, of Lisbon, and the 29th of his career at the track, snapping a tie at the top of the division's career all-time win list he was in with Danny Field. It was his 10th extra-distance event victory.
