That was essentially what was said in a statement released Thursday by Earnhardt-Childress Racing Engines in regards to the penalty handed down by NASCAR Wednesday against driver Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman and part-time Whelen Modified Tour team owner and Sprint Cup Series crew chief Kevin Manion.
Newman won last Saturday's Whelen Modified Tour F.W. Webb 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
