NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Silly Season Rumors Enveloping Two Series Veterans

LOUDON, N.H. - The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour begins the second half of the 2011 season with the running of the Granite State Classic Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway and with the calendar turning to August the rumor mill surrounding driver changes for next season has sparked to life of late.

The hottest rumor swirling involves seven-time series champion Mike Stefanik leaving his current Eric Sanderson owned Flamingo Motorsports ride to take over the Ed Whelan owned car currently being driven by 2008 series champion Ted Christopher.
Whelan said Thursday that he is not looking at a driver change for his team.
