STAFFORD - Doug Coby made a home track visit pay off Friday in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour qualifying, winning the pole for tonight's Town Fair Tire 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway.
It was the fourth career pole in the series for Coby, of Milford and his second this season. Coby also won the pole for the May 1 Spring Sizzler at Stafford.
Coby is competing full-time in the series this year driving for two separate teams to do i.
"We had a good car in practice and these guys gave me a good car," Coby said. "It's their first time here this year at Stafford because the other two shows we ran the other team. So it's pretty cool to come here and win two out of three poles with two different cars and two different teams. I think we've got a good car tonight and I think we can run up front."
