WATERFORD - On a night for the Waterford Speedbowl community to remember one of their own, it's hard to walk only a few feet anywhere at the track without being greeted by something memorializing former Speedbowl competitor Chuck "Uncle Buck" Rogers.
Rogers, a former driver in the Mini Stock and Street Stock at Waterford, passed away unexpectedly on April 16. Rogers, of Quaker Hill, was 56.
All over the Speedbowl Saturday were dedications to Rogers, from decals on racecars to the t-shirts worn by many of the fans on hand.
Before the start of features, track announcer Matt Buckler led a tribute to Rogers on the frontstretch led by a moment of silence.
