Swan Song Victory?: Ron Silk Wins In Possible Last SK Modified Race At Thompson For Owner Ed Partridge

THOMPSON - If this was it for car owner Ed Partridge and driver Ron Silk in the Whelen All-American Series SK Modified division at Thompson International Speedway, they went out with a bang.

Silk, of Norwalk, drove away from Ted Christopher on a lap 26 restart and won the 30-lap SK Modified feature at the World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Sunday.
It was the second consecutive victory of the season for Silk, who went winless in 2010 before finding victory lane in the most previous event on Sept. 26.
"We found something here the last weekly race," Silk said. "We struggled a good part of the year, but the car drove great all weekend since we unloaded it."
